Superstar DJs
Tina Davis (Dallas, TX)
Tina Sweet TDavis started doing the DJ thang in the great state of Florida in 2003 and now calls Dallas, Texas her home. Tina spins a mix of styles, but it's all got to be funky and have a little assto it. In addition to spinning her fave Blues, Lindy and West Coast Swing tunes in Dallas and Austin, she has been a featured DJ at many Blues events and Lindy exchanges in the US and Canada. She also likes '80s music, but don't hold that against her. Tina was a co-DJ for the Yehoodi Radio Show in May 2005 with Houston DJ Kristina Arscott. Up until recently, DJ Sweet Twas hosting a monthly blues dance in Austin, Texas, called The Back Room. |
Jered Morin (Dallas, TX)
DJing over 8 years now, Jered has been invited around North America,
held many House DJs slots, and hosted an online radio show for dance
music that gathered fans from as far away as the UK.
Last time in Waterloo, Jered laid down the Blues at the after party for 10 hours straight. This time he'll break it up some, but always spins the full range of the Blues experience that he has soaked in from childhood on up. |
Jeff Benoit (Waterloo, ON)
From the moment he stepped into the dark room at the back of the exchange, Jeff has loved the
Blues. He likes his Blues greasy with a side of Groove and a splash of Funk. He is known to
party through the night and the parties he hosts have come to be called Alcoholidays – need
we say more? Expect to hear tracks that range from being smooth as melted chocolate to those
with a gritty intensity to put you in the Blues mood.

Jody Glanzer (Ottawa, ON)
A regular guest at exchanges and national events, Jody is a particularly sought-after Blues
DJ and has been a renowned blues specialist since before blues dancing was popular. She's
been enamored with the Blues for as long as she can remember and is drawn to the rawness,
passion, soul, intensity of emotion and sheer humanity of it, makes her feel alive!
While spinning, Jody likes to play and share with the dancers and aspires to highlight Canadian content as much as possible. Whether she's playing some kickin' R&B, swingin' it old school style, funking out, "shoutin' haliluah!" to an inspiring Gospel set, or a downright carnal, sweaty & intense Blues session, she tries to create a flow and help shape the mood or tone. Lindyhop, Blues, Bal, WCS or whatever she'll spin for it and you know, its gonna be fun! |
Ed Reaney (Ottawa, ON)
One of Ottawa's longest running swing DJs, Ed has spun at a remarkable variety of venues,
including dance studios, bars, national events, and star-lit dance floors on the beach. He
is a versatile DJ, capable of spinning from Vintage & Blues, to Motown, Funk, and Modern. He
has been a staple DJ at all feature events in the Capital, often attracting out of town
dancers seeking "Ed's special flava".
One of Ed's current passions is scouring used music stores and garage sales for vinyl records with one of his other passions, Jody. Hopefully these musical gems will see the light of day again sometime soon and we'll be able to dance and party like its 1939! |
Brooke Filsinger (Toronto, ON)
Brooke has been dancing in her room to the music she loves for as long as she can remember.
Does that make her a dancer, or a DJ? Not really, but don't tell her that! Brooke loves
full-bodied, 'scrumpditiliumptious' music, the kind that you can really sink your teeth into.
Her ultimate goal? To have her very own coca-cola machine... but just as much she'd like to play the stuff that makes you just have to dance all night long.

Loreto Agdinaoay, Jr. (Cleveland, OH)
Slow and moody, black 'n' bluesy: that's how Loreto rolls. One of the few beacons of Blues in Cleveland, an otherwise "fast" dance town, Lo welcomes any chance to play for dancers who want music with a little grease and a whole lotta soul. He promises to give you the "Blues Face" - you know, that look you get when you hear a song with so much stank, you wanna go home and slap yo' mama.

Claudia Petrilli (Ottawa, ON)
House DJ and organizer of Ottawa’s Saturday night Swing dances, Claudia has DJed extensively at all of Ottawa’s Swing dance nights, including OSDS and the Boathouse. Specializing in Vintage Swing music as well as Blues and Gospel, she impresses people with her ever-increasing knowledge of Jazz and Blues music, helping to bring a better awareness of swing music to Ottawa’s dancers. With a love she can’t hide for Vintage Jazz recordings, she’s becoming known for her great taste in Hot Jazz, Blues, Gospel, and Soul music from across the decades. Her tasteful selections have earned her invitations to spin in Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City where her DJing for the Canadian Balboa Championships earned her rave reviews.

Joe Lin (Ottawa, ON)
Formerly from Waterloo, Joe shaped his musical sensibilities by listening and dancing to all the great live music the city has to offer. Though he loves everything from vintage jazz to funk, traditional blues always has a special place in his collection. The pleasure of watching people make musical discoveries on the dance floor is his reason for DJing, and he believes it's his years of dancing that have given him a good sense of what gets swing dancers jumpin' and groovin'. Joe thrives on music with grit and depth, and is always on the lookout for great music to keep his sets fresh. A popular DJ for late night blues dances, he was invited to spin at Montreal's second blues exchange FMWL 2 and, more recently, Blues Blast in Ottawa.

'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy' Jeff Stager (Waterloo, ON)
Early in this century (this one, not the last one), Jeff saw some Swing dancers at the local Blues bar. It was love at first sight. The dancers, and the music, seemed to move as one. Since then there have been lots of friendly people, traveling, workshops, exchanges, and dancin`. Do you like your music with enough variety that you can sample it many ways? Imagine a Lindy/Blues dance world, where you get "into the floor" deep enough you can chomp, gulp, chew, crunch, or slurp to your heart's content. That’s the music Jeff brings.
