Lindyfest registration is officially open for business!!! Check out the website http://lindyfest.hsds.org to catch up on all the awesome things we've got planned for you this year. Dates for 2009 are March 12-15th.
Lindyfest is an amazing lindy hop weekend workshop jammed packed with classes for all dance levels, soul sessions with living legends, hot performances and four endless nights of dancing. Lindyfest brings in hundreds of dancers from all across the globe to learn lindy hop from the masters and experience the excitement of Lindy Hop, all here in Houston.

Lindyfest is around the corner and we've got some great times planned for you! If you haven't already registered we want to let you know that the price of the weekend workshop goes up on Saturday, February 7th from $149 to $159. Still a fabulous rate for 18 world class instructors, 60+ classes, and a seemingly unending amount of dances!
Dream Class Maker
We're always trying to keeping things cutting edge around here...This year we're the first offer you a chance to tell us about your ultimate dream class! You can choose any amount of instructors and give your class a name and description. They'll be listed on the site and then you can vote for your favorites. We'll take a look at your dream classes and see what we can do to give you your ultimate dance class dream! Check it out here.
Special Performances
We've got a great performance scheduled for you this year at the Saturday evening dance! Check out awesome performances by The Swinging Air Force Dance Troupe from Montreal, the Jr. Jitterbugs from Ohio, our other neighbors to the North, Laura Glaess and Mike Roberts, plus lots more!! Plan on being at that party Saturday night at 11:30pm.
Lindyfest Hotel
All Lindyfest dances Thursday through Sunday night will be held at the Sheraton Brookhollow, and HSDS has secured a great hotel rate of only $79/night. You can now make your reservations with the Lindyfest room rate online. As an extra bonus for staying at the hotel, we'll be offering a shuttle service between the hotel and workshop location at the JCC.
Be where the party's at all weekend long and reserve your room today! The room block will be held through March 1st.
Frankie Manning: Ambassador of Lindy Hop with Limited Edition Cover
We will have limited edition signed copies of Frankie Manning: Ambassador of Lindy Hop with a special 95th Birthday cover! You don't want to miss these, cause once they're gone, you'll only be able to pick them up at the actual birthday party event in NYC this May!
Beginner's Track
Do you know someone who's eager to learn lindy hop but just can't commit to going to weekly classes? We are offering a special Beginner's Track crash course for people looking to start their journey into Lindy Hop during the Lindyfest weekend.
We start from the very beginning and teach you how to put the triple in your step. You'll also be treated to special visits from Frankie Manning and Dawn Hampton, both inspirational legends of the dance. Registration is only $55 and includes 8 hours of instruction with Jason Esparza and Chansin Bird at the Sheraton Hotel.
